We took a weekend trip to Guatemala with the idea of seeing Tikal Maya Site and maybe stopping over in Flores, a tiny island in the Lago de Peten Itza. Our adventure began in El Remate, a village in between Tikal and Flores, to give us a chance to see a bit more of Guatemala.

From the three places we visited, El Remate, Tikal, and Flores, I can say I absolutely love Guatemala! The people are friendly, the beauty is awe-inspiring and plentiful, and the accommodations & cuisine are inexpensive and above average.
I ended up filling my memory card with 1200 images, I thought I had a backup but luckily did not need it. Here are some of my favorites from Flores...Tikal and El Remate to follow in future posts.
