It had stormed off and on all day in the Noblesville area, but was beginning to clear up; when that happens it usually produces a brilliant sunset. I’ve been wanting to capture how the light plays off the architecture of Carmel, Indiana at sunset, so I headed over there to shoot the sun’s setting glow.
Here I set up in a fountain that is in the middle of a roundabout. Luckily the water was off and the fountain was mainly dry.
I have shot this courthouse before, but thought I’d try a different composition by framing it in with some limbs from a tree.
Any time I shoot the Carmel City Center from this viewpoint I have to stand right by all the intersection traffic, which always seems to bring some strange looks…like people have never seen someone taking pictures before. It’s kind of entertaining for me.
