These images from an abandoned high school in Gary, Indiana, are the last I’ll be posting…until I make another trip up there to do some more urbex. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but it always amazes me how a city can close a school due to financial problems, but leave EVERYTHING behind.
It makes sense to me to hold some sort of public auction or simply list sale items online to recoup some of its losses. There’s a reason why vandals dessimate these abandoned buildings, and the copper in them alone could help with public funding. That’s not even considering all the desks, lockers, lab equipment, textbooks, musical instruments (there’s always at least one piano left behind), etc., etc., etc. But what do I know…I just take pictures.
