Today we took a trip to The Belize Zoo just outside Belize City. One of the better zoos I have visited to date. All the animals are native to Belize, and all are either born there or rescues. It is fairly small but it doesn’t feel that way, and we spent around four hours wandering the grounds.
The day was capped off by a chance meeting with the founder, Sharon Matola. I happened to be trying to shoot a Scarlet Macaw behind a fence and she walked up asking if I wanted a better view, leading us into the cage with one to feed the bird peanuts. Awesome! Thanks Sharon. Check out Sharon and the zoo’s history in my last photo or here.

I loved the stories and the pictures, thanks for taking me with you on your trip…keep enjoying yourself and please post more!
Thanks for the kind words.
