Upon arrival on the tiny Guatemalan island of Flores, the first thing Natasha and I did, besides find lodging, was walk uphill to the tallest point to get the best view. It was here that we found the Cathedral de Flores and its quaint little plaza with basketball courts and small shops around the perimeter. Quite a few locals were milling around doing the same thing we were doing…admiring the view over Lake Peten Itza and mainland Guatemala.
I’ve created a new architectural category, Cathedrals & Churches, that you can view by selecting from the drop down menu under Architecture. Click the provided link to view my gallery of another beautiful Belizean church, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Benque Viejo del Carmen, Belize, or choose from others under the Architecture menu.
