For most people, travel to Cambodia is not complete without a trip to Siem Reap, and the unreal, magnificently massive temples of Angkor Wat. And yes…this is a must-see! But I am including a few more top photography locations in Cambodia for those that wish to explore more of this beautiful, friendly country.
1 – Siem Reap & Angkor Wat
Angkor Wat is a GIGANTIC ancient Buddhist temple complex, located in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It was originally built in the first half of the 12th century as a Hindu temple. Spread across more than 400 acres, Angkor Wat is said to be the largest religious monument in the world.
To properly explore these historic grounds, I would allow at least 3 days. Definitely hire a tuk-tuk driver. They will pick you up wherever you’re staying before sunrise so you can get the best light. Of course there WILL BE a ton of people doing the same thing. However you can always find a remote spot if you wander off the path. Such as these spots I found in both images above.
Even if you don’t know much about Cambodia, chances are good you have heard of Angkor Wat. That’s why this one tops the list of top photography locations in Cambodia.
